Team Sahlen enters the season finale of the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at Miller Motorsports Park for one last run in 2010 in their MAZDASPEED3.
The team skipped the prior event at Trios Rivieres to fully prepare for this weekend’s event.
Drivers in the #43 Team Sahlen MAZDASPEED3 will be Joe Sahlen and Will Nonnamaker. Despite having missed 2 events during the 2010 season, Team Sahlen still sits 17th in the Team Standings.
“The 2010 season was always meant to be a test and development season for the MAZDASPEED3. There have certainly been some ups and downs during the season. And that is to be expected with a new car. Except for the last event at New Jersey, we had finished every race during the season. We have shown good speed, with some solid Top 10 results. Hopefully this weekend’s race can be the accumulation of all that we have worked for this season.” – states Jay Chapman, Team Manager.
“New Jersey should suit the MAZDASPEED3’s handling characteristics very well. We are looking forward to fun event. And hoping to lay down some strong results as we head into the 2011 season. As usual, we plan to utilize the pre event Test Day to get situated and work on set up.” States Will Nonnamaker
The final event of the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at Miller Motorsports Park will start at 4:45 PST. SPEED TV will televise the race on September 18th at 9 pm, EST.
