Team Sahlen completed their 3rd and final Mid-Ohio test this past Friday, October 15th. Testing this late into the fall in Ohio can lead to some very unpredictable weather patterns. Although the weather only got up to the high 50’s and the wind was brisk all day; no rain or snow came down during the entire day test.
Unlike the previous two test days at Mid-Ohio, this test day consisted of 2 morning sessions and 2 evening sessions. In attendance were Team Sahlen Drivers Joe, Wayne and Will Nonnamaker. This week there was no musical chairs, as each driver took a car at the beginning of the day and drove it through the entire day.
“We were burning off all our old remaining Pirelli Tires today. It was really fun, as you knew that it didn’t matter if you flat spotted the tires because they were finished after this test anyways.” Shared Wayne Nonnamaker
“Getting one more day in before next week’s test at Virginia was great. As a driver, the more you get to drive a high speed race car like this, the more you become one with the car. These GT cars are really on the edge, at really high speeds, so finding that limit is extra important.” – shared Joe Nonnamaker
“I really enjoyed this day. No pressures, just the pure fun of getting to drive. Next weeks’ test will be all business, so I am very glad we had this chance to come out one more time and just romp around the track.” Stated Will Nonnamaker
