After a rough few races for Team Sahlen, the entire crew and drivers are prepared and ready to bounce back at Road America this weekend.
“We had a fantastic 4th place finish at Detroit. Following that race, we have made some great strides on set up, that has paved the way for increased pace on track. At the next three events of Mid-Ohio, Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen and Indy, we have risen into the Top 3 on the practice and lap charts. Unfortunately, that end of race results have not been there. Now is the time to start with a clean sheet and go at it for back to back race weekends.” – shared Wayne Nonnamaker
Sharing the driving with Wayne Nonnamaker in the #42 BMW Powered Daytona Prototype will be Dane Cameron.
In Team Sahlen’s #43 BMW Powered Daytona Prototype will be the father / son duo of Joe and Will Nonnamaker. Although their race finish of 13th position wasn’t stellar, the pace for the #43 machine was the best it had been all year long.
“I am very happy with how things are progressing. I am getting more and more comfortable with the Daytona Prototype. The crew is doing a fantastic job. For myself, I have been driving a lot of iRacing to get prepared for these weekends. I know one thing for sure, I will be going a bit faster on the straights at Road America than when I 1st raced here in 1974 in my Ford Pinto.” – shared Joe Nonnamaker
The ROLEX 250 driven by VisitFlorida.com will be on Saturday August 10th at 5 pm. The 2 hour and 45 minute event will be televised live on SPEED TV.
