When Team Sahlen decided in the fall of 2013 that they would be switching from their Daytona Prototype machines to production based Porsche Caymans, there was one thing the team knew. This was the factor that to race a production based Porsche, you need an excellent Porsche Dealership partner. Prevoiously, when Team Sahlen campaigned Porsches, their partner was Kempthorn Motors. But Kempthorn Motors was no longer a Porsche dealer. So Team Sahlen reached out the most logical choice of Porsche of Beachwood. They are the premier Porsche Dealer in Northeast Ohio, and they have a significant background and foundation of Porsche Motorsports knowledge. Formerly known as Freddy Baker Porsche, this dealership recently became a part of the Penske Automotive Dealership Network.
When Team Sahlen made the decision to race Porsche Caymans, the 1st step was to purchase 2 cars. The #43 Team Sahlen Cayman was actually purchased at Porsche of Beachwood. Both race cars would have been purchased at Porsche of Beachwood, but 2nd of two available 2011 Caymans was purchased before Will Nonnamaker could make it to the dealership lot.
Since the inception of building the Caymans, Porsche of Beachwood has been irreplaceable in their service to the team. This includes the Parts department working overtime to ensure that all the new parts could be delivered to the team on time during the short 2 month span of time it took to build the Caymans. And to make it even more difficult, this span of time was during the Holiday Season, when things get a bit slow in all corners of the business world.
