After a dismal opening round at Daytona, Team Sahlen bounced back with a solid 5th and 6th place finish at the next event at Sebring
Now with the 3rd event at Mazda Raceway – Laguna Seca, the entire Team Sahlen crew and drivers are “California Dreaming” of a race that will set the trend for the team leading into the heart of the 2015 season.
“The crew worked very hard after Daytona, and we bounced back as strong contenders at Sebring. The crew then came home and worked even harder to improve our capabilities on track. Now as we come to California, we are very excited in anticipation of what we may be able to accomplish at this event. There are still 8 races to go in the season, and we are pushing to take advantage of every one of them with solid results at each track.” – shared Will Nonnamaker
Wayne Nonnamaker shared his feelings heading into the weekend, “I really enjoy driving at this track. 3 years ago we won here in the ROLEX GT class for Mazda’s last victory with the RX-8 Rotary. I know that Jeff also likes this track, so we should be in good shape for race pace.”
Currently, Team Sahlen is 7th and 11th in the Team Championship. With 8 races to go in the season, there is still plenty of opportunity to the team to claw their way back into the hunt for the Title.
The Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca race will be on May 2nd. The FOXSports1 coverage will be air at 9 am on May 17th.
